DAKOTA SESSIONS
Hi! here are a few links to check out… really proud of these versions of Dustin’s songs. It’s so nice to have such beautiful footage of the way they are played live these days, as songs really do change as you take them on the road. Big thanks to Joel Stewart at CMT Canada for his impeccable direction. The Dakota Sessions are his babies and I think they are absolutely one of the best things on TV. Now I may only have fuzzy CBC at home… but I get to watch hotel tube enough to know 
Lucky for us we can youtube most of them anytime because I have a feeling they’re only played during musician hours on the tele. (search dakota sessions on youtube and you’ll find some brilliant footage of Ron Sexsmith, Oh Susanna, Jim Cuddy, Danny Michel, The Skydiggers, NQ Arbuckle, Serena Ryder, The Beauties, The Rattlesnake Choir, The Heartbroken, The Deep Dark Woods, Great Big Sea, & the list goes on… the series is basically an underground Canadian institution.) They are all filmed in a rad basement bar at Ossington & Dundas in Toronto Canada called (of course) The Dakota Tavern, which is well worth a visit & a whisky if you ever get the chance as well.
